Favicon Generator — SVG to ICO, PNG Multi-Size
Upload an SVG or paste an image URL and download it as a Windows ICO file, or generate PNGs at all standard favicon sizes (16, 32, 48, 64, 128, 180, 192, 512). Runs in your browser with no upload.
Source image
How it works
- Choose an SVG, PNG, or JPEG file from your computer, or paste an image URL.
- The image is drawn onto HTML canvas elements at each required size and encoded as PNG data.
- The ICO file is built by combining multiple PNG images into the binary ICO container format.
- Download all sizes individually, or grab the ready-to-paste HTML snippet.
- Everything runs locally — the image is never uploaded to any server.
How the ICO file is generated
ICO files embed multiple PNG images at different resolutions. The tool draws your source image onto an offscreen canvas at each target size, then encodes the PNG data and wraps it in the ICO binary format (which is just a container with a header and directory entries). The output is a valid .ico file that Windows and most applications can read.
The HTML snippet
After generation, a ready-to-paste HTML snippet is shown. It uses the modern <link rel='icon'> and <link rel='apple-touch-icon'> pattern with multiple sizes. Replace the placeholder href values with your actual file paths. The sizes array covers all common contexts: browser tab (16×16, 32×32), bookmarks bar (16×16), retina displays (180×180), Android Chrome (192×192), and PWA (512×512).
